About Darren

Darren is an experienced professional with over 30 years of working with children, young people, and their families. His career has been rooted in social work, and in recent years he has expanded his expertise by qualifying in counselling and psychotherapy. This dual qualification allows him to offer both counselling services and enhanced social work support, drawing on complementary skills from each field.

He has a proven ability to engage and communicate effectively with children and young people, advocate on their behalf, and work collaboratively with families from a wide variety of backgrounds.


Counselling Experience & Approach:

He is a registered counsellor with a strong belief in person-centred practice. His approach is integrative and bespoke, using a range of therapeutic modalities to meet each individual’s unique needs, helping to build self-awareness, resilience, and positive change.

His counselling experience includes supporting both young people and adults with:

• Bereavement and significant loss Sexual abuse and trauma

• Anxiety, depression, and mental health challenges

• Self-harm

• Sexuality, gender identity, and self-concept

• Academic and work-related stress
 

He offers sessions by telephone, online, and face-to-face, adapting his approach to suit individual preferences and needs.
