Bolton Hypoxic Training:
Altitude Training with a Generator

Hypoxic training imitates the conditions of decreased oxygen, and it can help increase aerobic capacity and enhance your body’s capabilities.

Our altitude training services are ideal for conditioning the body for high altitudes, and generally increasing performance levels, even at lower altitudes.

Hypoxic training also boasts therapeutic and post-operative benefits, as well as being useful for injury rehabilitation

All of our services revolve around your goals, as we aim to gradually improve your athletic capabilities.

Hypoxic training services Bolton

Our Hypoxic training services in Bolton will take your athletic performance to a new level. The evidence-driven approach we take to all forms of training are perfect for all athletes, as we understand that everybody has different aims.

Your aim might simply be to recover from a recent surgery or injury, gradually returning to your full potential and getting active again.

On the other hand, you might be undergoing intense training for an ultra-marathon, and you need to improve your respiratory capacity.

No matter your goals, all of the Injury Mechanics services are designed for you to reach your personal goals through an evidence-based methodology which is comfortable and effective.

Altitude training using a generator

Using a top-quality Altitude Generator designed for athletes, climbers and performance-driven individuals seeking allows us to enhance your endurance and acclimatisation through altitude training.

Our generator is the same model elite level sports teams (the British & Irish Lions and UCI Cycling teams) use, which backs up how effective it can be even at the top level.

The machine boasts an altitude range of 2,700m to 6,000m above sea level, and our altitude training is suitable for a number of purposes.

How our altitude training services work

Our next level altitude training, based in Bolton, involves 4 main procedures:

  • Benchmark Performance - Start with a 20-minute Functional Threshold Power test using our WattBike Atom V2, giving us a baseline to work with. Controlling the Oxygen Saturation throughout your Altitude Training block based on your effort, heart rate and wattage throughout the programme, enables a bespoke approach to be crafted for your goals.
  • Interval training - To tailor to your goals, we alter length, duration and rest periods. As our sessions progress, oxygen saturation levels will be gradually decreased, whilst we maintain intensity, slowly but effectively increasing your capabilities.
  • Recovery sessions - ‘Easy’ recovery rides or runs are a great way to utilise altitude training, because they are conducted with lower physical intensity to ensure you don’t overtrain.
  • Injury rehabilitation - Throughout the rehabilitation process of a number of injuries and surgeries, altitude training can initiate load surrounding a certain joint, whilst ensuring a lower mechanical strain.
